I have been knitting lots of socks lately. There are a number of reasons for this:
1. I have a lot of sock yarn and I want to use it up.
2. I have a lot of sock patterns.
3. Socks are small and I like that.
4. I wear only hand knit socks. (Except for running but I'm thinking of knitting myself some running socks. Any yarn suggestions?)
5. Hand knit socks make a great gift.
Here is my latest pair. Marilinda by Cookie A in Sundara sock yarn Marina over Icicles.
Now I'm wondering, what is your favorite sock yarn? What yarns have you used and not liked? Do you even knit socks?
I'm a big fan of Socks that Rock. The colours are lovely, the yarn is soft and it wears very well. Lorna's Laces on the other hand has not lived up to expectations. I find it pills badly and wears out long before I think it should.
How about you?

I'm interested in how my Koigu will wear. But my current fav is STR.
I'm still a fan of my Trekking XXL socks, holding up very well and I have some nice neutral colourways that go with most outfits. Still trying all the different kinds however...
Forgot to tell you, I made Ben a pair of socks from Regia Nation (the big stripes, you know what I mean?) and he says they're his favorite ever...thin enough so they're not to warm and they wash SO well...he washes and wears them every week and you can't even tell. =)

My fav sock yarn would be a tie between Celestial merino (Lucy Netby) and Fleece Artist merino
Cheers Irene
PS One pair of socks completed a couple pairs WIP
I LOVE Lorna's Laces. I must have 20 pairs in my drawer and have give countless more away. Never had any pilling and I have several pairs that are over five years old. Another fav is Shaefer. I have both on needles right now.
I think my fave is Shibui sock - love the springy-ness
