Little Red

Sometimes, I like to spring things on my friends. I like to keep a project under wraps so that my knitting friends will be surprised when I wear it into a Stitch and Bitch or shopping excursion.

When we decided that the Rogue Knitters needed a getaway, I started knitting this.

I have loved this pattern since it appeared in the Twist Collective last year. Careful planning allowed me to acquire the yarn for 25% off. That made this project very economical. I used Briggs and Little Atlantic, which is the recommended yarn. It is very rare that I use the same yarn as the original project, but it really worked out well in this case.
I love the crazy cable. I love the flowers. I love how warm this jacket is and how special I feel in it.

Where's your basket of goodies? It's a beautiful coat. The pictures don't do it justice.

Its gorgeous! The red is such a good colour for that coat. I hadn't realized B&L was the recommended yarn.

Ack! Livejournal ate my comment.

Love the coat J. I forgot to order my Atlantic when I did the B&L order. I did order a total of 14,441 yards. That includes 24 skeins from elann.com.

I finished a hat at 215 yards!

Stunning! If it were mine I would never want to take it off.

Were you the one who wore that jacket to The Knitting Room in Calgary and created pandemonium? Because they're still talking about it. :)

Why yes, Jocelyn, that was me.

Pandemonium you say? I'm delighted.
